The weekend is...

Friday, May 17, 2013

Officially here, and we should all head out to the country club!

What better way to start off the weekend by having wonderful weather like the one I am currently enjoying where I live. I went from complaining it was too hot on Monday, to loving the weather by the end of the week. Where’s my drink!? Hahaha

Since it’s warm enough to wear light clothing but gets a little chilly after 5p.m., I decided to wear pants. I am not really a pants kind of gal, but I do wear them because I easily get cold. I bought these H/M Pants a couple of years back, and although you can’t really see the details, they are floral. (“Flowers for spring, groundbreaking!” From which movie is this quote from?). I know many can be intimidated by prints on pants, especially if you are older than 21, but there are many pants that women of all ages can wear. Just stick with prints that are subtle. Don’t go for those crazy leopard prints that scream “I took these from my teenage sister or daughter”.

Well hope you have a wonderful weekend. Whatever you decided to do, please be careful and stay safe!

Lisa

Long Hair...

Thursday, May 16, 2013

Big curls… That’s my hairstyle preference. I have always heard, “the bigger the hair, the closer to god”, or “big Texas hair”. I am not a religious person and I am definitely not from Texas (Proud Californian! Woo Woo! Hahaha), but I do love both sayings! Every time I curl my hair, (I recommend hot rollers for that beautiful big Texas hair aka pageant hair or the flat iron for curls that will hold ALL day), I think of those sayings. I guess I am never going to let go of my pageant days and having pageant curled hair.

Anyways, in a previous blog post, I mention my love for Diane von Furstenberg. I feel like this woman REALLY knows what women want. Not only is she providing women with timeless pieces with amazing quality, she is providing clothes that make women feel like powerful and confident.

I’ve been obsessed with the “Zarita” dress for months. Finally, I decided to purchase it. There were so many colors to choose from but I decided to go with this green (I do recommend the black for my ladies who don’t have that perfect timeless little black dress). I feel like the green really compliments my skin tone. But let me tell you, it was hard to let go of that Hot Barbie Pink! The Hot Barbie Pink (Hot Pink but I call anything hot pink, Hot Barbie Pink) is beautiful! It’s so bright, colorful, and anyone will really stand out with it but I figured knowing me, I will wear it one time to a party and never wear it again since I will feel like everyone is going to remember that bright dress. So green it was.

This dress is not only beautiful but it’s easy to move in. You know there are times when a dress is so hard to move in, and this dress is perfect for any occasion and place. You can take it to work or you can go out dancing in it. Whatever you chose to do, you will not be disappointed with this dress. Now I understand why it’s so popular amongst celebrities.

And before I let you go, I want to say something that I am certain it will brighten up your day, it’s THURSDAY! We are only one day away from the weekend! Woo hoo!

Enjoy!

Lisa

Yellow, Hello...

Tuesday, April 23, 2013

Spring has certainly arrived. The trees are green, the flowers are blooming and the birds are chirping. Its been a wonderful couple of days. and I can't forget to mention, the weather has been perfect.

Now that spring is here, I am definitely trying not to wear dark colors. And to be honest, when I wear bright colors, my day seems brighter. It might sound strange, but it really does. I feel happy when I am wearing color. So I welcome spring with my arms wide open!

Hope you all have a wonderful week.

Dear Cold Weather...

Saturday, January 5, 2013

I am completely over you! Anyone who knows me, knows that my least favorite season is winter. I am easily cold and I cannot stand being cold at all times. But in this battle, mother nature wins and I must follow what she says.

For now I must suffer and wear sweaters, boots, beanies, gloves etc, whatever it takes to stay warm. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Lisa

kind of day.

Today I decided to wear this DVF dress that I got for a GREAT deal two years ago (I believe it was two years ago). I am obsessed with DVF. I love how its always so classic but yet so chic and trendy. I also love that I can wear DVF for both work and going out. It's perfect for a day to night look.

Hope you are all having a wonderful summer. I finally finished my summer semester and I have two weeks before I start fall semester, so you are definitely going to see more outfit post these next two weeks. Take Care!

Lisa
