Girly days.

I know I am not the only in this world who sometimes feels like she has nothing to wear. So what’s a girl to do? Sure you can go buy new clothes, which is always fun, but sometimes your budget doesn’t allow you to do such thing. Having to pay rent, mortgage payments, car payments, bills etc., these priorities need to come first before shopping (Oh the responsibilities that come with being an adult), so that means you have to work with what you have. Being a single woman, I certainly have a lot of these responsibilities that I need to pay on my own, so I must manage my finances and work with what I have in my closet. This is why it’s very important for all women, single or married, to really buy staple pieces you can work around with.

I decided to wear a dress as a skirt. Yes, this “skirt” I am wearing, is a dress from Topshop I bought a few years back when I was in New York. This dress is one of my favorite dresses ever. I have worn it so many times that I needed to change it up a bit. I received so many compliments at work about my “skirt”, little did they know it was actually a dress.

Being on a budget (Gosh, I hate that word so much! Haha) and not being able to spend money on new clothes, it’s always fun to use garments you love in different ways. For me, being petite, I can be creative with many garments. I am so tiny that I can use long shirts as dresses, Hahaha! What are some ways you change your garments into something else? Please let me know!

Hope you all have a great week!

Xo,

Lisa

P.S. For those of you who didn’t know, yes, I cut off 8 inches of my hair. I miss my long hair so much! But what makes me happy is knowing I was able to donate my hair to a cancer patient. So to the person who gets my hair, I hope he/she enjoys my hair as much as I did.

Summer Spring Day!

Today the temperature is over 95 degrees. And although it feels more like summer than spring, I am loving every moment of it. Sure, I didn’t love it yesterday while at work with the broken air conditioner but today the air conditioner is working and I’ve been able to step outside to enjoy the sun for a bit.

Have you notice that when the sun is out, people seem nicer and friendlier? I guess those rays do help people’s moods.

Anyways, since it’s been crazy hot, and I thought the A/C wasn’t going to work, I decided to wear this light weight dress. It might not be an appropriate corporate environment dress, but when do I ever wear things that are appropriate to work. Sure, I don’t wear “club” clothes, but I find the typical corporate dress code BORING! And what’s the worse than can happen? Send me home! OK! I’ll go home and enjoy this weather! Hahaha. Jk!

Hope you are having a fabulous Tuesday. Don’t worry, we are closer to the weekend :)
Xoxo,

Lisa

My Peplum craze...

Friday, October 5, 2012

hasn't died yet. Who would've thought that women everywhere will go crazy over something that ruffles around the waistline? Majority of us try to avoid highlighting that area. After peplum items hit the runways, we went peplum crazy. And I admit, I am one of those who has gone peplum crazy.

I bought this BB Dakota dress a year ago but I was never able to wear it because I bought it online and I bought it a size 4 thinking it will fit me since everyone was saying it runs small. I was wrong! It was so big on me that I had to get it tailored. So finally after a year of sitting in my closet, I decided to take it in. and I am so happy I did. This dress is one of the most comfortable dresses I have ever worn. And since it still feels like summer, its perfect for the weather.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Enjoy!

Indian Summer....

Wednesday, October 3, 2012

has really hit us this year and I am enjoying every moment of it. While in most places it is starting to cool down, where I live it still feels like summer. I am not a sweater kind of gal and I am easily cold, so this heat wave has been delightful for me. There are so many bloggers already wearing sweaters, scrarves and warm outfits while I am here wearing the lightest dress I can possibly find.

I must admit, its been a challenge trying to find outfits that are appropriate for work but cool enough for this weather. I know all good things come to and end sooner or later, so please don't mind me and my light summer like outfits.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

xoxo,
Lisa
