Hello Summer...

Tuesday, July 2, 2013

And Hello July aka my Birthday month.

I feel like I am 10 when I say that but every time July comes, I think of it as my birthday month. Although I also need to share my birthday month with America’s Birthday (July 4th) I don’t mind. Hahaha.

Anyways, summer is officially here and it’s been HOT!!!! 95 + degrees hot, humid hot, and just plain HOTTTTT!!!! Today I decided to wear this new pencil skirt I recently purchased at, *drum roll*, Forever 21! WHATTT!!!! Hahaha. I honestly haven’t been inside that store in probably a year. I find their clothes disposable. As soon as I throw the clothes in the washing machine, something happens to it. I rather spend a little more at other stores for a better quality. But recently, I saw this skirt on a girl and asked her where she got it. To my surprise it was Forever 21. I don’t know if they have changed the quality of their clothing, but this skirt definitely didn’t seem Forever 21-ish (you like my new word? Hahaha). The quality is actually very good and its not see-through! I am very happy with my purchase. Maybe now I will look into Forever 21 a little bit more.

Well hope you are having a wonderful week! Stay cool out there!

Lisa

Hello Monday...

Monday, June 10, 2013

...We meet again!

I currently have a bad case of the Mondays. Also, being awake since 4:30am doesn’t help. I would rather be at home sleeping or watching bad TV shows such as one of my favorite, the Maury show. But instead I had to come in to work and do what majority do, and that’s work! I know I shouldn’t be complaining about working when many are unemployed and still losing jobs but today is one of those days when you just feel mentally exhausted and don’t feel the weekend was enough days off to regain strength. But I promise it’s just today!

For those of you who are currently on vacation or don’t need to work, I envy you right now. For those who are working, I know you understand my pain. HA!

Tomorrow is a new day! Hope your Monday is better than mine and you are well rested to start the week!

Xoxo,

Lisa

Jean Shirt and Full Skirt..

Thursday, May 30, 2013

Kind of day. And I am grateful I wore these pieces because it was warm!

I know I have mention this before in some old blog post, but I love jean shirts. I find them so practical for warm weather as well as cold weather. You can dress them up or dress them down. They can be used as a shirt, or a layer. I absolutely love them! Recently I paired the jean shirt with some black pants, but today I decided to pair it with a full skirt. The combination reminds me of a uniform of some sort, but I can’t figure out it out.

Also, you might have noticed that I am wearing my hair up in a bun. Shocking, I know! I hardly do this, I think because I find my hair to be my security blanket. Also, I have A LOT of hair that when I do put my hair in a bun, it gives me a headache because it can get heavy. I know that sounds ridiculous, but if you have a lot of hair and its long, you understand what I am saying.

With that said, I am excited about this weekend. It’s supposed to be in the 90’s by Saturday. After spending most of winter in a cold snowy city, I have come to appreciate any kind of warmth. Being from Southern California, you tend to forget how lucky you really to have warm weather 95% of the time.

Hope you are all having a wonderful week. For those of you who didn’t work on Monday (I hope you took some time to thank and remember those who gave up their lives for this beautiful country) because of Memorial Day, hope you are having a wonderful short week.

Xoxo,

Lisa

P.s. Ignore my un-manicured hands and also the length of the nails. As you know I am big sports fan, and my team the LA Kings (Hockey Team) is in the playoffs which means, I am biting my nails like crazy. I know disgusting but I can’t help it. Any tips on how to stop?

Long Hair...

Thursday, May 16, 2013

Big curls… That’s my hairstyle preference. I have always heard, “the bigger the hair, the closer to god”, or “big Texas hair”. I am not a religious person and I am definitely not from Texas (Proud Californian! Woo Woo! Hahaha), but I do love both sayings! Every time I curl my hair, (I recommend hot rollers for that beautiful big Texas hair aka pageant hair or the flat iron for curls that will hold ALL day), I think of those sayings. I guess I am never going to let go of my pageant days and having pageant curled hair.

Anyways, in a previous blog post, I mention my love for Diane von Furstenberg. I feel like this woman REALLY knows what women want. Not only is she providing women with timeless pieces with amazing quality, she is providing clothes that make women feel like powerful and confident.

I’ve been obsessed with the “Zarita” dress for months. Finally, I decided to purchase it. There were so many colors to choose from but I decided to go with this green (I do recommend the black for my ladies who don’t have that perfect timeless little black dress). I feel like the green really compliments my skin tone. But let me tell you, it was hard to let go of that Hot Barbie Pink! The Hot Barbie Pink (Hot Pink but I call anything hot pink, Hot Barbie Pink) is beautiful! It’s so bright, colorful, and anyone will really stand out with it but I figured knowing me, I will wear it one time to a party and never wear it again since I will feel like everyone is going to remember that bright dress. So green it was.

This dress is not only beautiful but it’s easy to move in. You know there are times when a dress is so hard to move in, and this dress is perfect for any occasion and place. You can take it to work or you can go out dancing in it. Whatever you chose to do, you will not be disappointed with this dress. Now I understand why it’s so popular amongst celebrities.

And before I let you go, I want to say something that I am certain it will brighten up your day, it’s THURSDAY! We are only one day away from the weekend! Woo hoo!

Enjoy!

Xoxo,
Lisa
