Before the hair change…

Wednesday, February 18, 2015

So it’s been a while since I’ve updated this blog. I know I continue on apologizing for the lack of updates but with a full time job, you lose track of everything else.

I was able to take some shots before dying my hair a lighter color. Yes, after 8 years of not dying my hair, I randomly decided I needed a change and just went for it and dyed my hair a much lighter color.

Vegas Withdrawals…

Tuesday, November 11, 2014

After a great weekend in Vegas, I am back to reality. How I wish I was able to go back. Even though I lost sleep and most likely I will need to do a detox because of all the alcohol consumed, I still want to go back. Hahaha

Romper love!

As you have noticed, lately I’ve been wearing a lot of rompers. I know I have said this many times but I absolutely LOVE them!!!!

If you are anywhere in Southern California, you have been dealing with this crazy heat wave. I live next to the beach and even at the beach it’s been in the high 90’s. There’s this dry warm wind, the ocean water is warm, and you take a shower and feel icky right after, it’s horrible! But at night, there is that beach breeze and makes you cold. This weather is so bipolar it makes it difficult to figure out what to wear. You must find something that keeps you cool during the day but warm during night. And that’s why I run to my rompers!

Bare legs and boots...

Yes, I am currently in LA. And unlike other cities, LA has been feeling like summer instead of spring. But lately the temperatures have been going down which makes it a perfect time to wear knee high boots with shorts and dresses.

White on White...

Monday, April 21, 2014

Sometimes it’s the best combination for a spring outfit.

We have all heard the old fashion rule, “don’t wear white after labor day and before memorial day”. That fashion rule is so outdated and I am a believer that people should be allowed to wear what they want whenever they want.

Denim!

Happy Thursday!

We are closer to the weekend and I am super excited because that means I am closer to enjoying Opening Day at Dodgers Stadium! But first I must get through Thursday before the real fun starts…

It's Friday...

“I’m in love. Saturday wait. And Sunday always comes too late. But Friday never hesitate…” Definitely one of my favorite songs by The Cure. I was lucky enough to see them play this song live at Lollapalooza last year.

Wednesday!

Finally the weather is cooling down and I can actually wear clothes I bought for winter. I know I will regret this when I go back to Chicago. But for now I am grateful that its cooler and I can wear warm clothes. Hahaha.

Withdrawals...

It’s Monday and I am having weekend withdrawals. I want to go back. Why can’t we have a longer weekend? Why must all good things end so quickly? Hahaha.

my two loves: Fashion and Sports!

Some of you might know that I love sports! I am the type of girl who screams, cheers and yells like a guy at a bar when his team is playing. I am not like those girls who hate sports or only like it because of their significant other. I LOVE Sports! I love football, baseball, hockey, and basketball. I even have my “Jersey Sundays” which means, I wear one of my favorite team’s jersey or shirt and I put my hair in a bun and out the door! Kind of like how I am wearing it here in these pictures. But don’t think I do this all the time. Sometimes, I just lay around my home with a big jersey on and snack on junk food and drink beer.

Many believe that sports gear is not fashionable at all. And sure, they might not be nicest and fashion forward but there are ways to make it look cute. But you have to admit, sports gear got a lot better through out the years especially for women!

I am definitely going to do more post like this because I want to show and maybe inspire those girls who do like to wear sports gear how to make them look a lot more girly and fashionable than just wearing it plain.

Today I paired my Chicago Bears shirt from Victoria Secret Pink Collection with a fur vest, jeans and some booties. Weather is definitely getting chillier so I am now able to wear my fur items. How exciting! Like I said before, I will post more of these posts in the future. If you do like sports, let me know how you combine your sports gear with fashion.

Hope you are enjoying your day!

Lisa

The garment...

Thursday, October 17, 2013

That caused a big scene at work.

When I bought this skirt last year from ASOS, I realized I had to get it tailored. The skirt was just so long and being 5’1 I tend to have this problem a lot. Finally after a year I found someone that specializes in leather and I was able to get it tailored for my height. I was so excited to wear it! Finally, I decided to wear it and I never knew a piece of garment would cause so much commotion at work. I mean, sure it’s a leather skirt but it’s not showing much other than my knees. It’s not a Miley Cyrus VMA’s outfit.

I decided to pair it with my favorite jean shirt. I love pairing leather with jean, I find it very now. I went to work thinking and feeling great. Until I had someone tell me, “I don’t think your skirt is very appropriate for work.” At that moment, I said to myself, “WHAT? What are you talking about, its just a leather skirt, I am not wearing short shorts!”

I rarely talk about my job or the people working there, but one thing I will say is that many dress like slobs. They wear pajamas to work!!! So for this person to say that made me get sassy and I turned around and said, “Well I don’t think dressing like a slob is appropriate for work either!” and I walked away.

Don’t worry, I didn’t go home and change. Why should I? I see nothing wrong with the outfit. I will continue on wearing this skirt to work because I can. Regardless of what anyone says…

And that’s sassy Lisa, y’all! Hahaha. Just wanted to share my little leather skirt story with you all. Hope you are all having a great week. Remember: wear what you want, just as long as you keep it classy! :)

And I go...

Back to Black…Just like Amy Winehouse said in her song. Hahaha!

Don’t you just find it hard not to wear black? Don’t get me wrong, all of you know I love color, but some of my major staples are all black. I’ve been really trying to stay away from buying black but it’s almost impossible to do. Example will be this black jumpsuit I bought at Nordstrom’s. I don’t even remember where I saw this jumpsuit but I remember wanting it. It was difficult to find my size in my local Nordstrom’s. Finally it was available and of course I didn’t hesitate and bought it.

I absolutely love this jumpsuit. It’s not only comfortable, but I think it’s stylish and chic. And did I mention it’s less than $100!? Yes, I believe its $78. I have seen similar jumpsuits for $300 and above. I don’t know about you, but I would much rather spend that money on shoes than on a jumpsuit. I really wished they carried more colors. I would’ve definitely bought other colors as well.

Well I must get back to work. Hope you all have a fabulous Tuesday!

Its just one of those...

Girly days.

I know I am not the only in this world who sometimes feels like she has nothing to wear. So what’s a girl to do? Sure you can go buy new clothes, which is always fun, but sometimes your budget doesn’t allow you to do such thing. Having to pay rent, mortgage payments, car payments, bills etc., these priorities need to come first before shopping (Oh the responsibilities that come with being an adult), so that means you have to work with what you have. Being a single woman, I certainly have a lot of these responsibilities that I need to pay on my own, so I must manage my finances and work with what I have in my closet. This is why it’s very important for all women, single or married, to really buy staple pieces you can work around with.

I decided to wear a dress as a skirt. Yes, this “skirt” I am wearing, is a dress from Topshop I bought a few years back when I was in New York. This dress is one of my favorite dresses ever. I have worn it so many times that I needed to change it up a bit. I received so many compliments at work about my “skirt”, little did they know it was actually a dress.

Being on a budget (Gosh, I hate that word so much! Haha) and not being able to spend money on new clothes, it’s always fun to use garments you love in different ways. For me, being petite, I can be creative with many garments. I am so tiny that I can use long shirts as dresses, Hahaha! What are some ways you change your garments into something else? Please let me know!

Hope you all have a great week!

Lisa

P.S. For those of you who didn’t know, yes, I cut off 8 inches of my hair. I miss my long hair so much! But what makes me happy is knowing I was able to donate my hair to a cancer patient. So to the person who gets my hair, I hope he/she enjoys my hair as much as I did.

White After Labor Day

Tuesday, September 3, 2013

We have all heard of the old rule, “No white after Labor Day”, but does anyone obey this rule now in days? I certainly believe that you should wear any color you want whenever you feel like it. If you want to wear bright pink during cold winter days, go for it! I am a believer that color can cheer up a person.

So with that said, I refuse to not wear white after Labor Day. I will wear white whenever I want. That’s my prerogative. Hahaha.

With that said, I hope you all had a great summer. Where I live, it seems like summer just started. Still in 90’s and it doesn’t seem like fall weather will kick in anytime soon. Indian summer perhaps? Whatever it is, I appreciate the heat!

Have a great short week!
